To strengthen foundations for humanitarian activities

25. Becoming an Instructor for Red Cross activities

Participants exchanging opinions during a group session at a Red Cross Volunteer Leader Seminar

This refers to the role of being a trainer for various activities of the Japanese Red Cross Society, such as first aid training, volunteer work, and Junior Red Cross programs. In such cases, there are many examples where volunteers themselves serve as instructors, utilizing their specialized skills and experience in each respective field.

The Red Cross volunteers are organized into groups such as the "Community Red Cross Volunteer Corps," which engages in community-based activities, the "Special Red Cross Volunteer Corps," which utilizes specialized skills and talents like amateur radio and language expertise, and the "Youth Red Cross Volunteer Corps," composed of students and working adults between the ages of 18 and 30. Trainings are conducted at various volunteer corps and local levels, with some volunteers also serving as instructors for these programs.
By serving as a instructor, it not only leads to meeting new volunteers and expanding your circle of friends who share similar values, but it also deepens your own proficiency in volunteer activities, which in turn boosts your motivation.
