INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT

International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Pavilion

It is the human being who saves the human being.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement first exhibited at the World Exposition in Paris in 1867..
Nearly 160 years later, the mission remains unchanged.

To protect human life, health and dignity.

To this end, we have worked around the world with a collective desire to help those who are suffering.

We hope that one day this work will come to an end, but there is still no end in sight.
However, we believe that only people can save people.
Please come to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Pavilion and feel the power of human beings.

If your heart is moved even a little, the world will surely change.

About us

Experience

At this very moment, humanitarian crises are unfolding across the world.
These are not stories from some distant, faraway place.
They are the realities of people who were living everyday lives just like us.
We must "notice" that this is happening, "think" from the perspective of those who are suffering, and "act" by doing what we can—even if it's something small.
We invite you to experience such stories through projection mapping and a highly immersive hemispherical dome.
Through this experience, we hope you will be reminded of the importance of thinking about others—and that it will inspire you to take action, in whatever way you can, for someone else.

Thank You and Towards Our 150th Anniversary

Over 300,000 people visited the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
We express our heartfelt gratitude.

Though the Expo has closed its doors, the mission of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement will continue.
A Japanese man who encountered the Red Cross at the 1867 Paris Expo carried that spirit forward,
establishing the precursor organization, the Hakuaisha, in 1877.

In 2027, the Japanese Red Cross Society will celebrate its 150th anniversary.

We will continue to share our journey through our official social media and website.
Please follow us and join us in weaving the future of humanity.
